Presently

I am a PhD student at The University of Edinburgh. I am enrolled in The School of Informatics in 'The Center for Speech Technology Research'.

My main research interest is ASR 'Automatic Speech Recognition' which in simple terms means... 'making the computer understand human voices'. I am working on a project called MATCH - 'Mobilising Advanced Technologies for Care at Home'. The project focuses on developing assistive technologies for care at home for the elderly people. My role in the project is to build ASR that works well with elderly voices. I get my funding from the MATCH project grant. My PhD supervisor is Prof Steve Renals

Work Experience

March 2004 - August 2006
Employed with Reliance Communications Ltd in the 'Emerging Technologies and Services Group'.
My work was mainly focussed around developing speech recognition engines for Indian languages. And towards the later part of my tenure there, had worked on a business case modeling and other interesting management stuff! Loved my job there, but had to move on to do my PhD.
